August 28	4,000 Oystercatcher, 80 Curlew and 30+ Bar-tailed Godwit - Little Eye. 1 Osprey, 1 Pectoral Sandpiper (juv), 1 Little Stint (juv), 1 Curlew Sandpiper (juv), 1,500 Oystercatcher, 1,100 Dunlin, 450 Ringed Plover, 40 Sanderling and 1 Arctic Skua - Hoylake Shore. 5,500 Oystercatcher, 1,200 Dunlin, 134 ringed Plover, 92 Sanderling, 26 Grey Plover and 3 Peregrine - West Kirby Shore, at high tide. 1 Pectoral Sandpiper, 2 Spotted Redshank, 14 Ruff and 1 Marsh Harrier, also 2 Wood Sandpiper reported - Inner Marsh Farm. 1 possible Greenish Warbler - Point of Ayr.
August 27	7 Greenshank - Heswall Shore, 60 Goldfinch on the beach. 1 Pectoral Sandpiper, 20 Greenshank, 5 Spotted Redshank 1 Common Sandpiper, c20 Ruff and 2 Raven - Inner Marsh Farm. 1 Redstart, 2 Whitethroat and 5 Wheatear - Hilbre Island. 100 Sanderling and 2 Wheatear - Hoylake Shore. 1 juv. Cuckoo - Lingham Lane (behind Leasowe Lighthouse).

August 17	1 Marsh Harrier seen off Parkgate for a couple of hours heading off towards Heswall. 4 Whimbrel, 100+ Turnstone, 17 Gannet, 7 Guillemot, 2 Arctic Skua, 2 Great Skua and 7 Common Scoter - Hilbre Island. 1 Red Kite over A55 near Pentre Halkyn (1 mile inland from Flint), heading towards the estuary.
August 16	1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Peregrine, 5 Spotted Reshank, 10 Greenshank, 3 Ruff and approx 100 Black-tailed Godwit, - Inner Marsh Farm. 1 Marsh Harrier - Denhall Quay. 3 Wheatear, 40 Little Tern and 1 Peregrine - Hilbre Island.
August 15	2 Arctic Skua, 200 Little Tern, 300 Sandwich Tern, 500 Common Tern and 2 Wheatear - Hilbre Island. 1 Wood Sandpiper and 1 Marsh Harrier - Inner Marsh Farm. 1 Marsh Harrier and 1 Peregrine - Heswall marsh this evening.
August 14	1 Mediterranean Gull (adult) - West Kirby Marine Lake. 3 Avocet - Dove Point, Meols then moved to Cubbins Green, West Kirby. 1 Wood Sandpiper, 8 Spotted Redshank and 1 Marsh Harrier - Inner Marsh Farm. 4,000 Oystercatcher - West Kirby Shore/Little Eye, disturbed by Kite Surfers.
August 13	2 Whimbrel, 2,000 Oystercatcher, 200 Common Tern, 550 Sandwich Tern and 77 Little Tern - Hilbre Island.

August 9	120 Little Tern, 135 Sandwich Tern and 150 Common Tern roosting between Hilbre Island and Red Rocks at high tide. 1 Black Tern (juv.) and 11 Whimbrel - West Kirby Shore , as tide came in this morning. 1 Wood Sandpiper, 26 Little Egret, 2 Marsh Harrier, 1 Peregrine, 6 Spotted Redshank, 3 Ruff, 2 Greenshank, 1 Green Sandpiper and 230 Black-tailed Godwit - Inner Marsh Farm, Little Egrets roosting overnight. 1 Cuckoo - Gronant.
August 8	1 Long-tailed Skua (1st summer), 1 Arctic Skua, 910 Curlew, 300 Sanderling, 6 Gannet and 7 Great-crested Grebe - Hilbre Island/ Little Eye also lots of terns and waders. 18 Greenshank - Parkgate Marsh, Boathouse Flash.
August 7	1 Long-tailed Skua (1st summer.) and 2 Arctic Skua - Hilbre Island. 1 Marsh Harrier - Burton Marsh. 2 Marsh Harrier - Inner Marsh Farm. 2 Marsh Harrier - Parkgate Marsh, this evening including 1 female. Latest Newsletter Published.
August 6	1 Greenshank - Hoylake Shore. 1 Whimbrel, 100 Little Tern, 200 Sandwich Tern, 150 Common Tern, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Greenshank, 2 Gannet, 1 fulmar and 1 Wheatear - Hilbre Island. 2 Marsh Harrier (fem. and poss juv.), 9 Spotted Redshank, 3 Greenshank and 4 Green Sandpiper - Inner Marsh Farm. 1 Marsh Harrier - Parkgate Marsh. 1 Marsh Harrier, 2 Water Rail, 1 Short-eared Owl, 1 Merlin and 1 Peregrine - Burton Marsh.

August 4	1 Bittern, 1 Barn Owl, 7 Little Egret, 1 Little Ringed Plover (juv), 7 Spotted Redshank, 3 Green Sandpiper and 1 Common Sandpiper - Inner Marsh Farm.
August 3	3 Water Rail - Inner Marsh Farm.
August 2	1 Marsh Harrier (fem/imm), 4 Greenshank, 2 Grey Partridge, 4 Stock Dove, 1 Merlin and 1 reeling Grasshopper Warbler - Parkgate Marsh. 120 Little Tern, 40 Sandwich Tern and 150 Common Tern - West Kirby Shore /Red Rocks 1 hour before high tide. 7 Whitethroat (3 juv.), 3 Reed Warbler and 2 Sedge Warbler - Red Rocks Marsh.
August 1	300 Curlew, 5 Whimbrel, 500 Oystercatcher, 20 Bar-tailed Godwit, 40 Ringed Plover, 50 Sandwich Tern, 20 Common Tern and 1 Little Egret - Point of Ayr. 6 Spotted Redshank and 9 Little Egret - Inner Marsh Farm.
July 31	4 Little Egret - Boathouse Flash, Parkgate.
July 30	28 Little Tern, 90 Common Tern, 175 Sandwich Tern, 880 Oystercatcher, 28 Sanderling and 1,200 Dunlin - Red Rocks at high tide. 2 Water Rail, 5 Greenshank, 8 Spotted Redshank and report of 1 Osprey - Inner Marsh Farm.
July 29	105 Common Scoter, 290 Sandwich Tern, 9 Common Tern, 170 Little Tern, 70 Sanderling, 1 Grey Plover (s/pl), 1 Razorbill and 9 Gannet - Gronant, terns counted were those roosting, a lot more out to sea.
July 28	1 Little Stint, 2 Little Egret and 24 Greenshank - Boathouse Flash, Parkgate, 5 Little Egret here yesterday. 25 Little Tern, 170 Common Tern and 120 Sandwich Tern roosting on sandbank between Red Rocks and Hilbre one hour before high tide, 4 Gannet and a mixed flock of 500+ Terns out to sea. 161 Little Tern (incl. juvs) - Red Rocks at high tide. 4 Bullfinch - Thurstaston Visitor Centre. 2 Gannet - Leasowe Shore. 5 Greenshank, 9 Spotted Redshank and 300+ Black-tailed Godwit - Inner Marsh Farm.
July 27	8 Little Egret, 1 Water Rail and 1 Peregrine - Burton Marsh, Decca Pools. 110 Little Tern, 187 Sandwich Tern, 54 Common Tern, 1 Arctic Tern and 3 Arctic Skua - West Kirby Shore just before high tide. 3 Lesser Whitethroat (2 juv.) coming regularly to garden in Seabank Rd., Heswall. 390 Dunlin and 20 Ringed Plover - Hoylake Shore. 7 Greenshank, 8 Spotted Redshank and 1 Hobby - Inner Marsh Farm
July 26	45 Little Tern, 150 Common Tern and 300 Sandwich Tern roosting on sandbank between Red Rocks and Hilbre at high tide, 5 Gannet out to sea. 1 Red Kite, 4 Spotted Redshank, 3 Kestrel, 100 Black-tailed Godwit, 8 Greenshank, 2 Little Egret, 1 Peregrine (juv.) and 1 Mediterranean Gull (adult) - Inner Marsh Farm, 15 Little Egret came to roost. 1 Mediterranean Gull and 2 Yellow-legged Gull - Leasowe Shore. 2 Peregrine - Meols Shore.
July 25	7 Spotted Redshank, 100 Black-tailed Godwit, 8 Greenshank, 2 Little Egret, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Peregrine and a pair of Sparrowhawk - Inner Marsh Farm.
July 24	180 Sandwich Tern, 100 Common Tern, 75 Sanderling, 150 Dunlin, 1 Peregrine and 4 Gannet - Gronant. 7 Little Egret and 20 Greenshank - Parkgate Marsh. 7 Spotted Redshank, 150 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Mediterranean Gull and 1 Little Ringed Plover - Inner Marsh Farm.
July 23	1 Whimbrel - Meols Shore.
July 22	1 Wheatear, 13 Little Tern, 400 Sandwich Tern, 100 Common Tern, 18 Whimbrel, 1,000 Oystercatcher, 64 Black-tailed Godwit and 14 Bar-tailed Godwit - Hilbre Island. 1 Mediterranean Gull - Meols Shore. 1 Honey Buzzard next to Moreton spur road. 2 Little Egret - Burton Marsh. 2,990 Redshank, 2,380 Curlew, 1,900 Dunlin, 1 Greenshank, 1 Common Sandpiper, 11 Whimbrel and 6,500 gulls mainly Black-headed and Common - Heswall Shore.
July 21	10 Common Scoter, 250 Sandwich Tern, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Peregrine, 70 Sanderling and 200 Dunlin - Gronant, Little Terns are having a record year, 109 pairs and so far 160 fledged young!! 500 Black-tailed Godwit - Inner Marsh Farm.
July 20	300 Redshank on the breakwater at Leasowe, high tide. 148 Common Tern and 210 Sandwich Tern - West Kirby Shore.
July 19	150 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Ruff, 2 Greenshank, 1 Little Egret, 2 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Common Buzzard and 6 Spotted Redshank - Inner Marsh Farm. 4 Little Egret - Parkgate Marsh. 4 Green Sandpiper and 6 Common Sandpiper - Shotton rifle range pools. 1 Common Sandpiper, 5 Whimbrel and 50+ Sandwich Tern, also 1 Oystercatcher 'almost white' = Leasowe Shore just before high tide. 1 Cuckoo (juv.), 500 Sandwich Tern, 150 Common Tern, 4 Arctic Tern, 25 Little Tern, 1 Whimbrel and 25 Turnstone - Hilbre Island. 100 Sandwich Tern, 50 Common Tern, 20 Little Tern, 6 Whimbrel, 80 Curlew and Oystercatchers which included partial albino - Hoylake Shore. 1 Mediterranean Gull (adult summer plumage) - West Kirby Marine Lake.
July 18	2 Common Sandpiper - Heswall Shore. 1 Cuckoo (juv.) - Hilbre Island.
July 16	270 Sandwich Tern, 30 Common Tern, 7 Common Sandpiper, 1 Whimbrel, 1 Purple Sandpiper and 5 Turnstone (first returning birds) - Hilbre Island. 100 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Ruff and 6 Spotted Redshank - Inner Marsh Farm.
July 15	170 Sandwich Tern with large flock of roosting gulls - West Kirby Shore just before high tide, also about 1,000 Oystercatcher, 150 Sandwich Tern roosting on Hoylake Shore, with as many again out to sea off Red Rocks, high tide. No sign of the White-winged Black Tern, last seen yesterday afternoon at Seaforth. 12 Gannet, 600 Oystercatcher, 3 Whimbrel, 200+ Common Tern, 1,500+ Sandwich Tern, 37 Little Tern and 1 Common Sandpiper - Hilbre Island.
July 14	250+ Sandwich Tern, 9 Sanderling and 2 Gannet - Gronant, Little Terns still on course for a record year. 1 White-winged Black Tern at Hilbre, on sand bank just east of Hilbre with other terns before high tide. 8 Little Egret - Parkgate Marsh. 2 Arctic Tern, 1 Barn Owl and 8 Little Egret - Inner Marsh Farm, evening.
July 13	1 White-winged Black Tern - Hoylake Shore, summer plumage adult at high tide. Also just had report of 1 White-winged Black Tern at Hilbre on the 9th July, seen for about 30 minutes.
July 12	50 Sandwich Tern, 5 Common Tern, 5 Gannet and 3 Common Scoter - Red Rocks. 2 Spotted Redshank, 1 Greenshank, 1 Common Buzzard and 1 Little Egret - Inner Marsh Farm.
July 11	16 Gannet and approx. 50 each of Sandwich and Common Terns - Red Rocks at high tide. 4 Spotted Redshank, 1 Greenshank and 140 Black-tailed Godwit - Inner Marsh Farm.
July 10	31 Common Scoter, 50 Sandwich Tern and 60 Gannet - Gronant, Little Terns still on course for a record year. 1 'feral' Lesser White-fronted Goose, 7 Spotted Redshank and 2 Greenshank - Inner Marsh Farm.
July 9	1 Lesser White-fronted Goose - Inner Marsh Farm, no ring, origin unknown. also 6 Spotted Redshank. Approx. 50 Sandwich Tern - Red Rocks two hours after high tide. 1 Quail - Shotwick Fields.
July 8	1 White-winged Black Tern reported but NOT confirmed, also 1 Quail - Gronant. 7 Spotted Redshank - Inner Marsh Farm.
July 6	1 Mediterranean Gull, disturbed by a possible Hobby - Inner Marsh Farm. Latest Newsletter published.
July 5	1 White-winged Black Tern (adult) reported - Gronant, Little Tern chicks starting to fledge.
July 4	6 Gannet, 30 Common Tern and 1 Arctic Skua - Red Rocks as tide came in. 200+ Black-tailed Godwit and 1 Spotted Redshank - Inner Marsh Farm.
July 3	60 Linnet and 75 Common Scoter - Gronant. 1 Dipper (juv.) - Arrowe Park.
July 1	25 Black-tailed Godwit, 1,000 Curlew, 200 Redshank, 600 Oystercatcher and 2 Peregrine - Heswall Shore. 6 Gannet and 200+ Terns, mostly Common - Red Rocks at high tide. 6 Sandwich Tern and 1,000 Black-headed Gull - West Kirby Shore at high tide.
