6+ Great Skua with some spectacular aerobatics with them attacking gulls and cormorants, also 4+ Gannet - Hoylake Shore late afternoon.

1 Little Gull close in to embankment - Leasowe Bay late afternoon.
1 Snow Bunting on sea wall near coastguard station - Dove Point, Meols.
1 Snow Bunting by Leasowe Castle between 1pm and 3pm.

2 Short-eared Owl in field adjacent to Hilbre High School, West Kirby, this afternoon.
1 Peregrine, 109 Golden Plover, 480 Lapwing, 1 Greenshank - Heswall Shore this morning.
440 Pintail, 1400 Knot, 130 Black-tailed Godwit - Thurstaston Shore this morning.
2 (poss 3) Great Skua, 1 Arctic Skua nad 12+ Gannet - Hoylake Shore late afternoon.
1 Pochard (male) and 2 Marsh Harrier - Burton Mere Wetlands.

Nov 16
1 Leach's Petrel, 2 Great Skua and 2 Long-tailed Duck, large number of Kittiwakes moving west with some Gannets, Fulmars and Manx Shearwater but distant - Hoylake Shore as tide came in.
1 Leach's Petrel at 3.30pm, also 1 Great Northern Diver, 1 Eider, 5 Great Skua plus another Skua spp. , 2 Razorbill, 2 Shag and 350+ Kittiwake - Hilbre.
2 Short-eared Owl in field adjacent to Hilbre High School, West Kirby, hunting there for most of the afternoon.
2 Hen Harrier (ringtail) and 2+ Short-eared Owl - Denhall Quay, also 1 Brambling in hedge.

Nov 15
1 Long-tailed Duck and 1 Shag (juv) flew west, 120 Grey Plover, 1 Golden Plover, 750 Sanderling, 4,300 Knot and 1,200 Dunlin in wader roost, gull roost about half yesterday's masive number and included 1 Mediterranean Gull and 86 Great Black-backed Gull - Hoylake Shore during high tide birdwatch, 1 Leach's Petrel seen earlier but distant.
1 Great Skua - Leasowe Gunsite.
1 Leach's Petrel this afternoon - Leasowe Lighthouse.
144 Brent Geese at high tide on West Kirby Marsh.
2 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 1 Marsh Harrier and 1 Barn Owl late afternoon - Parkgate.
Great views of 2 Short-eared Owls, also 1 Barn Owl, 1 Brambling, 1 Green Woodpecker and 43 Pied Wagtail - Burton Mere Wetlands.

1 Snow bunting (male) - on sand at Dove Point, Meols at 9.30am, flew west.
1 Greenshank and 1 Kingfisher on groyne - Leasowe Lighthouse.
At least 2 Great Skua off north Wirral this morning.
5 Great Skua and 14 Purple Sandpiper - Hilbre.
One of the Great Skuas flushed about 6,000 Herring Gull off the sea and onto Hoylake shore at high tide making a total of 8,000, plus 1 Mediterranean Gull, c70 Great Black-backed Gull, c800 Common Gull, c500 Lesser Black-backed and c500 Black-headed Gull, waders a bit distant but estimated as 60 Ringed Plover, 350 Redshank, 50 Grey Plover, 100 Sanderling, 700 Dunlin and 1,000 Knot, also 1 Long-tailed Duck (female) flew west - Hoylake Shore during high tide birdwatch.
1 Long-tailed Duck (male) - Red Rocks.
3 Brent Geese - Thurstaston shore on rising tide.
5 Purple Sandpiper, 140 Turnstone, 280 Redshank and 1 Knot on pontoon - New Brighton Marine Lake.

2 Crossbill, 3 Brambling, 2 Siskin, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 2 Marsh Harrier, 2 Peregrine and 2 Short-eared Owl - Burton Marsh.
8,000 Teal (a new reserve record), 1 Goosander, 3 Marsh Harrier (all at same time), 1 Siskin, 1 Peregrine and 4 Cetti's Warbler ( 1 screening, 1 bridge screen, 1 in bushes by fields, 1 IMF/Border Pool) - Burton Mere Wetlands.

5 Short-eared Owl, 4 Hen Harrier (ringtails, seen at the same time), 3 Peregrine and 1 Merlin, also the Black Swan has returned - Denhall Quay.
1 Short-eared Owl over Greasby.
20+ Twite and 1 Brambling in mixed finch flock, 3,000 Pintail on the far side of the channel - Bagillt Marsh.
3 Cetti's Warbler (heard only), 2 Goldeneye (first returning), and 3 Green Sandpiper - Shotton Lagoons.
1 Smew (redhead) on pool, 3 Pochard (males), 150 Tufted Duck, 1 Green Sandpiper and 500 Pink-footed Geese over - Rifle Range pool/Broken Bank.
2 Short-eared Owl and 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) - Burton Point.
2 Marsh Harrier (juv), 1 Hen Harrier and 1 Short-eared Owl - Old Baths, Parkgate Marsh.

Nov 3
1 probable 2nd winter White-tailed Eagle seen from the West Hide at Connah's Quay Reserve at 1250pm, landed behind the Ash Pool then flew low behind reed bed before disappearing and wasn't relocated.
2 Great White Egret, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) and 6 Short-eared Owl - Denhall Quay.
1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), also small but steady visible migration including 45 Redwing and 20 Fieldfare - Parkgate Marsh.
200 Bar-tailed Godwit on the shore, visible migration included 37 Chaffinch, 18 Siskin , 10 Skylark, 27 Blackbird, 8 Song Thrush and 5 Redwing - Leasowe Lighthouse, for more details see Lighthouse Blog.

110 Pintail, 490 Black-tailed Godwit and c1,000 Shelduck close to the beach as the tide came in - Thurstaston Shore.

3 Bewick's Swan, 4,000 Teal and 3,000 Black-tailed Godwit - Oakenholt Marsh.
20+ Twite, 1,700 Redshank, 13 Spotted Redshank, 8 Greenshank and 1 Peregrine - Connah's Quay Reserve.
3 Marsh Harrier and 2 Jack Snipe - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Short-eared Owl, 3 Hen Harrier (ring-tail), 2 Marsh Harrier, 2 Greenshank and 2 Great White Egret, and hundreds of Pink-footed Geese - Parkgate Marsh, this afternoon.
10,000 Dunlin, 3,500 Oystercatcher, 1000 Knot, 600 Sanderling, 350 Curlew, 160 Grey Plover and 1 Golden Plover on shore, also 14 Brent Geese and 1 Short-eared Owl over the marsh - West Kirby Shore.
1 Great White Egret, 5 Short-eared Owl, 2 Peregrine and at least 2 Hen Harrier and 1 Marsh Harrier (others seen through fog!) - Denhall Quay.
