490 Lapwing, 69 Golden Plover, 600 Dunlin, 3 Greenshank and 700 Redshank - Heswall Shore.
600+ Sanderling, 1000+ Dunlin, 500 Knot, 1 Golden Plover and 90+ Grey Plover, 2 drake Eider off East Hoyle flying west - Hoylake Shore over high tide.
2 Short-eared Owl - Neston Marsh (off Harp Inn).
4 Marsh Harrier, 4+ Great Egret and 2 Stonechat - Parkgate.

1 Black Redstart on roof of house behind boatyard at Dove Point, 2 Snow on sea defence just east of Dove Point slipway, 1 Greenshank by groyne - Meols.

285 Pink-footed Geese (roosted overnight and flew inland at first light), 110 Pintail, 3300 Oystercatcher, 62 Golden Plover, 180 Grey Plover, 600 Dunlin, 2000 Knot, 250 Black-tailed Godwit, 900 Curlew, 800 Redshank, 1 male Merlin over high tide - Heswall Shore.
2 (possibly three) grey male Hen Harrier, 8+ Great Egret, 1 Short-eared Owl, 4+ Marsh Harrier and 2 Raven - Parkgate.

1 Ring Ouzel in sea-front garden (trapped for ringing but escaped!) - Hoylake.

Oct 14
40 Redwing, 90 Fieldfare and 70 Woodpigeon over in 30 minutes early morning - Lower Heswall.
1,000 Fieldfare, 40 Mistle Thrush, 500 Redwing and 25 Song Thrush mostly heading east, also 1 Cetti's Warbler by nature trail - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Richard's Pipit over west (heard not seen) - Hoylake.
10 Great Egret beyond Donkeystand Flash, Parkgate.
6 Red-throated Diver, 22 Great Crested Grebe, 250 Common Scoter, 3 Red-breasted Merganser, 180+ Brent Geese, 21 Skylark with many Redwing & Blackbirds overhead pre-dawn - Hilbre.

Oct 13
16 Whooper Swan over high towards Burton, also 1,000 Wigeon this morning, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) this afternoon - Denhall Quay.
3 Raven over Meols Shore.
Up 300 Jackdaw, 1 Peregrine and large flock of Pink-footed Geese - Burton Marsh.
269 Brent Geese, 888 Shelduck, 20 Wigeon, 65 Grey Plover, 45 Ringed Plover, 325 Cormorant flew out of the estuary, 110 Linnet and 10 Twite- Hilbre.
1 Curlew Sandpiper, 1 Great Egret and 3 Cattle Egret  - Burton Mere Wetlands.

Oct 12
Two large flocks of Redwing over Lower Heswall this morning.
6 Egyptian Geese, 4000 Shelduck, 170 Lapwing, 41 Golden Plover, 3800 Oystercatcher, 500 Dunlin, 1200 Knot, 1500 Black-tailed Godwit, 540 Curlew, 2700 Redshank over high tide - Thurstaston Shore.
4 Whooper Swan flew west, 23 Little Egret between Hilbre and Tansky Rocks, 7,000 Oystercatcher, 135 Linnet, 7 Rock Pipit (including 4 which flew to West Kirby Marine Lake), 40+ Carrion Crow on East Hoylake Bank and 2 Jack Snipe- Hilbre.
600+ Pink-footed Geese south over Caldy/Thurstaston.

Oct 11
4 Cattle Egret, 16 Little Egret and 1,000 assorted gulls mainly Common and Black-headed on flooded fields this morning - Hoylake Langfields.
2 Grey Wagtail and 1 Swallow over at Lingmere fisheries, 1 Kingfisher at Lingham Bridge - Moreton.
850 Pink-footed Geese over headed towards estuary - Leasowe Lighthouse.
202 Brent Geese (1 dark-bellied), 6 Rock Pipit, 15 Twite and 135 Linnet on Middle Eye with another Linnet flock of 50 flying west and 116 Redshank - Hilbre.
1 Barn Owl and 2 Great Egret - Parkgate.
1 Short-eared Owl - Denhall Quay.
2 Curlew Sandpiper, 5 Swallow, 1 Avocet, 1 Whooper Swan and 4 Cattle Egret  - Burton Mere Wetlands.

1 Little Gull over New Brighton Marine Lake.
1 Arctic Tern and 3 Brent Geese this morning,  3 Pomarine Skua (pale morph adults) flew west mid-afternoon - Leasowe Bay this morning.
2,980 Black-tailed Godwit - Caldy Wildfowl Collection.
4 Cattle Egret, c20 Little Egret, 336 Jackdaw and 300+ Black-headed Gull on flooded fields - Hoylake Langfields.

2 Hen Harrier, 3 Marsh Harrier and thousands of Pink-footed Geese - Burton Marsh.

150+ Pink-footed Geese over Pensby this morning headed for the estuary.
1 Short-eared Owl, 2 Ringtail Hen Harrier (ad fem and 1st year male) and 5,000 Pink-footed Geese flew into roost - Denhall Quay.

10 Cattle Egret, 10 Egyptian Geese, 3 Curlew Sandpiper and 1 Swallow - Burton Mere Wetlands.
2 Whinchat, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Raven, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) and 2 Swallow - Decca Pools.

1 Great Northern Diver, 14 Red-throated Diver. 2 Guillemot and 2 Raven - Hilbre.
2 Red-throated Diver flew west, 5 Mute Swan 1 black Swan flew east, lots of Scoters - Hoylake.
Max count of Great Egrets coming in to roost last few days is 39, previous record was 35 (August 2019) - Burton Mere Wetlands.

3 Whinchat, 1 Sedge Warbler, 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Merlin and 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) - Decca Pools.
Flock of 85 Linnet (Middle Eye), 2 Peregrine and 1 Rock Pipit - Hilbre.
3,000+ Common Scoter on flat calm sea at high tide - Meols/Leasowe.
1 Pectoral Sandpiper, 1 Curlew Sandpiper, 1 Spotted Crake, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) and 10 Cattle Egret - Burton Mere Wetlands.

Sep 28
1 Pectoral Sandpiper, 4 Curlew Sandpiper, 4 Ruff, 1 Whooper Swan and 3 Cattle Egret - Burton Mere Wetlands.
Visible Migration this morning included 18 Redwing, 4 Tree Sprrow and 1 Crossbill flying south over Little Neston and Tree Pipit and passage of Meadow Pipits and skylarks over Leasowe Lighthouse.
4 Raven (over), 2 dark-bellied Brent Geese, 91 pale-bellied Brent Geese, 2 Peregrine, 460 Curlew, 520 Shelduck, 230 Linnet and 2 Swallow - Tansky Rocks to Hilbre.
2 Whinchat between Decca Pools and Denhall Quay.
2 Great Egret flew north just before 3pm - Leasowe Lighthouse.

1 Pectoral Sandpiper - Burton Mere Wetlands.
103 Brent Geese, 280 Cormorant, 5 Pintail flew south, 320 Curlew, 85 Ringed Plover, 2 Peregrine and 4 Rock Pipit, flock of 185 Linnet on Middle Eye plus two smaller flocks seen - Hilbre.
580 Shelduck - Tansky Rocks.
2,700 Black-tailed Godwit - Caldy Wildfowl Collection.

4 Wheatear and 1 Mediterranean Gull - Meols groyne.
4 Raven circling over Irby Mill Hill.
16+ Great Egret, 1+ Merlin, 3 Marsh Harrier, 3 Peregrine, 1 Whinchat and 1 Merlin - Burton Point/Marsh.

21 Great Egret flying towards roost, also 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 2 Hobby, 1 Peregrine and 150 Pink-footed Geese - Denhall Quay.

8+ Curlew Sandpiper, 3,490 Shelduck, 1 Ruddy Shelduck, 174 Little Egret roosted overnight (site record), 3100 Oystercatcher, 1 Golden Plover, 72 Grey Plover, 2,000 Knot, 50 Dunlin, 1,080 Curlew, 1,200 Blacktailed Godwit, 3,200 Redshank, 1ad Mediterranean Gull, 5 Grey Wagtail flew south - Thurstaston/Heswall Shore.
4,260 Black-tailed Godwit - Caldy Wildfowl Collection.
1 Curlew Sandpiper west of groyne - Meols.
8 Cattle Egret (now confirmed as record high for the reserve and Dee Estuary, six in on various dates in 2016 and 2017 previous high) and c50 Pink-footed Geese - Burton Mere Wetlands.

c150 Pink-footed Geese flew inland, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Reed Warbler (singing), 1 Swift, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 3 Grey Wagtail over, 1 Merlin, 1 Wheatear and 2 Great Egret - Burton Marsh/Point.

6 Wheatear, six Brent Geese dropped in this morning which then increased to 21 during the day - Hilbre.
2 Greenshank and 3 Grey wagtail near Meols groyne.
1 Spotted Flycatcher close to eastern kissing gate, 1 Kingfisher along River Birkett - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Short-eared Owl flying over fields, seen briefly this evening - Meols.
Several small flocks of Pink-footed Geese over North Wirral heading towards the Dee estuary this morning.
