1 Hudsonian Godwit with Black-tailed Godwits - Oakenholt Marsh.
1 Merlin in off the sea and at least 7 Wheatear between Hoylake Lifeboat Station and Meols groyne.
1 Hobby over Premier Plants garden centre (next to A540) - Heswall.
1,800 Shelduck, 119 Little Egret, 1,050 Curlew, 5,450 Redshank, 440 Grey Plover, 250 Knot, 6 Greenshank, 2 Whimbrel and 400+ Ringed Plover over high tide, also 1 juv Peregrine and 1 juv Marsh Harrier - Heswall Shore.
6 Wheatear between bottom of Station road and the sheep pens - Burton Marsh.
1 Hobby hunting hirundines over Ledsham village.

Aug 30
7 Spoonbill - Boathouse Flash, Parkgate.
4 Marsh Harrier (looked like fem and 3 juvs), 4 Greenshank and 9 Chiffchaff this evening - Riverbank Road, Heswall.

1 Hudsonian Godwit - Oakenholt Marsh.
4 Spoonbill - Boathouse Flash, Parkgate.
At least 5 Wheatear in paddocks - Leasowe Gunsite.
3 Hobby - Inglewood Manor, Ledsham.
2 Garganey - Burton Mere Wetlands.

Aug 26
410 Sandwich Tern on beach this morning - Leasowe Gunsite.
1 Osprey flew west past Hoylake and then flew high over Middle Hilbre towards Wales.
1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 1 Merlin, 1 Peregrine, 1 Hobby, 3 Turnstone, 3 Grey Plover, 12 Ruff, 8 Common Tern, 18 Pintail and 2 Pink-footed Geese - Denhall Quay.
4,950 Black-tailed Godwit - Caldy Wildfowl Collection.

Aug 25
1 Hudsonian Godwit south of Flint Castle.
1 Caspian Gull - Gronant.
4 Whimbrel, 1 juv Ruff and out at sea 13 Arctic Skua (1 light phase) and 6 Manx Shearwater over high tide - Hoylake.
725 Sandwich Tern flew past in five minutes this morning - Hilbre.
4 Pink-footed Geese - Burton Mere Wetlands.

Aug 24
1 Lesser Yellowlegs with Redshank flock, also 1 Hudsonian Godwit still - Flint/Oakenholt Marsh.
3 Spoonbill - Neston Marsh.

Aug 23
2 Arctic Skua in mersey mouth early morning - New Brighton.
3 Arctic Skua and 8 Eider, waders included 230 Ringed Plover, 75 Turnstone, 40 Sanderling, 120 Dunlin, 35 Redshank and 6 Whimbrel - Hilbre.
1 Hudsonian Godwit south of Flint Castle.

Aug 22
2 Arctic Skua seen from both Red Rocks
8 Arctic Skua and 445 Sandwich Tern - Hilbre.
3 Garganey and 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Hudsonian Godwit seen in flight south of Flint Castle, also 4,000 Black-tailed Godwit there.

2 Arctic Skua seen from both Red Rocks and Hilbre.

1 Sabine's Gull (adult) flew north, also 1 Hudsonian Godwit seen at high tide - Flint Castle.

1 Hudsonian Godwit on saltmarsh at 1pm - just south of Flint Castle.
10 Whimbrel and 1 Little Ringed Plover, thousands of Oystercatchers at high tide - Hoylake Shore.
120 Grey Plover, 250 Ringed Plover, 400 Dunlin, 8 Knot, 1650 Curlew, 6000+ Redshank - Heswall Shore.
3 Spoonbill and 5 Greenshank - Decca Pools.

1 Hudsonian Godwit this morning - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Hobby over at 1145hrs - Lower Heswall.
1 juv Little Ringed Plover - just east of Lifeboat Station, Hoylake.
180 Sandwich Tern, c1,000 Black-headed Gull and c4,000 Oystercatcher on ebbing tide - West Kirby Shore.

1 Hudsonian Godwit, seen from Border Hide then Bunker Hide - Burton Mere Wetlands.
6 Whimbrel and 1,200+ Common Gull on incoming tide this morning - Heswall Shore.

4500 Oystercatcher, 90 Lapwing, 70 Grey PLover, 200 Ringed Plover, 1600 Curlew, 5000 Redshank - Heswall Shore.
2 Spoonbill - Boathouse Flash, Parkgate.

1 juv Cuckoo still by coastal paddocks - Leasowe Lighthouse.
3 Mediterranean Gull and 500+ Sandwich Tern on this evening's high tide - West Kirby Shore.

1 Hudsonian Godwit present until about 3.30pm, also 1 Black Tern over and 2 Garganey - Burton Mere Wetlands.
4,800 Knot - Leasowe Gunsite.

Aug 12
1 Hudsonian Godwit seen late evening, ID confirmed (photos), flew out to estuary at 7.40pm - Burton Mere Wetlands.
795 Sandwich Tern, 2 adult Black Tern, 30 Little Tern, 4 Shoveler, singles of Yellow Wagtail, Snipe, Golden Plover, Willow Warbler and Wheatear. 8 Eider - Hilbre.

1 juv Cuckoo still in coastal paddocks, 1 Greenshank in channel near groyne - Leasowe Lighthouse.

1 Pectoral Sandpiper, present must of the day but 'flighty' - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Little Gull and  3 Mediterranean Gull (including a nice juv) - Meols Shore.
1 Osprey over Wallasey headed towards New Brighton, presumably same one was over Bidston Moss earlier.
2 Mediterranean Gulll, 2 Common Sandpiper and 550 Sandwich Tern - Hilbre.

July 26
22 Mediterranean Gull (17 adults, 3 2nd summer, 2 1st summer) on rising tide this afternoon - Thurstaston Shore.
1 Little Gull and 2 Mediterranean Gull (ads) off tennis courts - Meols Shore.
520 Sandwich Tern - Hilbre.

2 Yellow-legged Gull (ad and 3CY) off Lifeboat Station - Hoylake Shore.
1 Hobby over Premier Plants Garden Centre - Heswall.
4 Spoonbill - Boathouse Flash, Parkgate.

3880 Black-tailed Godwit roosting over high tide - Caldy Wildfowl Collection.
224 Turnstone (many adults in s/pl) roosting at high tide - New Brighton Marine Lake.
1 Common Sandpiper and 2 Little Ringed Plover - Burton Mere Wetlands.

5,200 Knot roosting at low tide this morning off Leasowe Gunsite (these then reached Hoylake at high tide making for a spectacular sight).

2 Yellow-legged Gull (ad and 3CY), 2 Mediterranean Gull, 1 Little Gull, 9 Whimbrel and 5,000 Knot over high tide - Hoylake Shore.
1 Greenshank, most of the 5,000 knot were feeding off the prom after high tide - Meols.

29 Mediterranean Gull over high tide - Thurstaston Shore.
700 Sandwich Tern, 10+ Whimbrel and c500 Curlew - Point of Ayr.

324 Sandwich Tern, 5 Little Tern, 1,600 Dunlin and 1,100 Oystercatcher over high tide - West Kirby Shore.

7 Mediterranean Gull (5 ads and 2 juvs) close to prom, also 4,000+ Knot and 3,000 Oystercatcher on East Hoyle Bank on tide edge at high tide - Meols.

1 Osprey in tree, seen from moving car so only a 'possible', by River Fender near M53 spur - Moreton.
5 Tree Sparrow over this morning, also 1 Hobby - Lower Heswall.
1 Mediterranean x Black-headed Gull hybrid (also present yesterday and ringed in Poland) - West Kirby Shore.
4 Spoonbill, and 1 Grasshopper Warbler heard - Boathouse Flash, Parkgate.

4,000 Knot and 2,000 Oystercatcher feeding just across the channel two hours after high tide - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Red Kite over this afternoon - Saughall.
19 Mediterranean Gull, 1,600 Black-headed Gull and 400 Common Gull this morning - Thurstaston Shore.
1 Yellow Wagtail and 1 Whimbrel, several thousand Knots roosting on East Hoyle Bank at high tide - Dove Point, Meols.

80 Bar-tailed Godwit, 250 Sandwich Tern, 4 Mediterranean Gull (all ads s/pl) and 800 Black-headed Gull at high tide - West Kirby Shore.
7 adult Mediterranean Gull, 96 Little Egrets, 1300 Curlew, 1950 Redshank over high tide - Thurstaston Shore.
1 Yellow Wagtail just east of Hoylake Lifeboat Station.
3 Hobby over hunting ants - Ness.
