No sign of Little Swift by 5pm.
2 Manx Shearwater, 2 Arctic Skua, 40 Gannet, 8 Common Scoter, c100 Sandwich Tern and c200 Common Tern off Red Rocks at 7pm.

1 Little Swift seen from Morrisons car park at 8.30am - New Brighton.

1 Hobby over Neston sewage works this afternoon.
178 Manx Shearwater, 530 Gannet, 35 Kittiwake, 13 Great Crested Grebe, 1,000 Common Tern, 300 Sandwich Tern, 3 Little Tern, 6 Guillemot and 2 Razorbill - Hilbre.

June 28
1 Little Swift over Marine Promenade by Marine Lake at 8.30am, over Morrison's this afternoon - New Brighton.
3 Stock Dove in field by Stapledon Wood, Caldy.

1 Little Swift over St James' Church this morning - New Brighton.
1 Red Kite over Burton Mere Wetlands then flew north over Burton Marsh, this morning.
2 Yellow Wagtail and 1 Corn Bunting in fields by RAF Sealand.

June 25
1 Arctic Skua, 17 Gannet and 14 Great Crested Grebe - Leasowe Lighthouse at high tide.
1 Little Swift over Wallasey Water Tower on Gorsehill Road late morning but no further sign this afternoon.

June 24
1 Little Swift around Fort Perch and over the River Mersey this morning, also flying inland over town centre (Pickering Road and Atherton Street) - New Brighton.
6 Manx Shearwater and c40 Gannet (mostly very distant), 2 Peregrine on the sand bank - Hoylake at high tide.
Report of singing male Golden Oriole at undisclosed site probably near Burton Mere Wetlands, will report any further details ASAP.

June 23
1 Little Swift still present at New Brighton, seen on the River Mersey side of the Floral Pavilion and over Tower Grounds Park and is spending most of time over River Mersey still present 7pm, also 1 Roseate Tern and 1 Pomarine Skua.
1 Spoonbill - Burton Mere Wetlands.
76 Gannet flying west after high tide - Hoylake.
2 Black-tern - Wallasey Shore mid-afternoon.
1 Hobby chasing swifts - Newton, West Kirby.
1 Pomarine Skua, 5 Arctic Skua, 425 Gannet, 76 Manx Shearwater, 2 Razorbill, 3 Arctic Tern, 115 Sandwich and 250 Common Tern at Hilbre.

June 22
1 Little Swift - New Brighton.
3 Pomarine Skua off Wallasey this evening.

June 21
Feeding flock of 75 Gannet and 1 Arctic Skua off north end of Hilbre, seen from Red Rocks, after high tide.

June 20
1 Arctic Skua, 46 Manx Shearwater, 164 Common Scoter (4 flocks), 45 Sandwich Tern, at least 200 Little Tern, 37 Gannet and c100 Swift overhead at Gronant this morning, Scoters and Manxies flying west, Manxies totally unexpected in a light southerly breeze!
17 Gannet, 87 Common Tern, 11 Sandwich Tern and 52 Great Crested Grebe - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Hobby, 1 Peregrine and 2 Spotted Redshank (s/pl) - Burton Mere Wetlands.
2 Hobby and 3 Yellow Wagtail (1 juv) near Saughall.
2 Barn Owl and 2 Grey Partridge - Thurstaston this evening.

June 18
1 Green Sandpiper, 1 Hobby and 1 Mediterranean Gull - Burton Mere Wetlands.
c300 Bar-tailed Godwit flew in off sea and flew west, 11 Gannet, 17 Common Tern, 68 Great Crested Grebe and 1 Little Gull -  Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Short-eared Owl off Burton Point this morning.

1 Green Sandpiper - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Little Stint on island with Balck-headed Gulls, and 1 Great White Egret by Bevyl Road Flash, Parkgate.

2 Peregrine on sand bank, 5 arctic Tern and 5 Gannet off-shore - Leasowe Lighthouse.
46 Common Scoter flying east to west fairly close in, 4 Manx Shearwater, 12 Gannet, 40 Common Tern and 5 Sandwich Tern - Hoylake Shore after high tide this morning, 190 Manx Shearwater this evening.
1 Great White Egret by Bevyl Road Flash, Parkgate.
1 Ruff (full s/pl), 1 Green Sandpiper and 1 Greenshank - Burton Mere Wetlands.

18 Gannet and 185 Common Tern off Hoylake at 8.30am.
1 Wheatear (fem) in car park, also 2 Gannet and 43 Common Tern - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Great White Egret by Bevyl Road Flash, Parkgate.

June 14
1 possible male Golden Oriole seen briefly in gorse bush just past sheep dip - Burton Point.
1 Blue-headed Wagtail, 2 Manx Shearwaters, 350 Common Terns flying south west - Hilbre.
1 Great White Egret by Bevyl Road Flash, Parkgate.
1 Spotted Redshank (s/pl) and at least 31 Avocet chicks - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Red Kite over Neston Road, Thornton Hough, at 3pm.

June 13
500 Knot high over West Kirby flying NNW.
13 Grey Heron fishing in gutter as tide went out - Meols Shore.
4 Egyptian Goose - Burton Mere Wetlands, flew off and seen to circle over Bevyl Road Flash, Parkgate, at around 10am before flying past Heswall and Hilbre, also 1 Spotted Redshank at BMW.
1 Great White Egret by Bevyl Road Flash, Parkgate.

June 12
2 Little Tern, 30+ Common Tern, 1 Arctic Tern and 5 Gannet - Leasowe Lighthouse.

4 Spotted Flycatcher, 1 Short-eared Owl, 100+ Swift and 200+ Hirundines at Leasowe Lighthouse.
At least 3,200 Swift, 500 Swallow and 200 House Martin - Red Rocks.
2,100 Swift, 310 Swallow, 72 House Martin and 9 Sand Martin - Hilbre.
1 Short-eared Owl seen over Little Eye then dropped down at Red Rocks.

May 25
1 Red Kite over Leasowe Lighthouse, also flew over Greasby at 1130am west to east.
1 Short-eared Owl over Hilbre flew towards Wales.
1 Turtle dove, 3 Spotted Flycatcher, 1 Garden Warbler, 1 Cuckoo, 20+ Redpoll and 2 Short-eared Owl - Red Rocks.

May 24
20 Avocet chicks and 1 Marsh Harrier - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Grasshopper Warbler - Neston Old Quay.

May 23
1 Wood Warbler - Stapledon Wood, Caldy.
1 Wood Warbler in trees by Leasolwe Gunsite, also 4 Wheatear and 1 Raven.
1 Cuckoo - Leasowe Lighthouse. 
2 Grey Partridge and 2 Tree Sparrow in fields around Sealand.

1 Greenshank over - Leasowe Lighthouse.   
4 Tufted Duck (1 pair on Donkey Stand Flash and another pair on Bevyl Road Flash) - Parkgate Marsh.

May 20
2 Grasshopper Warbler along coastal path between Flint and Bagillt, also 2 Whimbrel on Bagillt Marsh.
1 Roseate Tern on beach at 9.30am, 1 Short-eared Owl west of Leasowe Lighthouse, also 87 Gannet, 220+ Sandwich Tern, 20 Common Tern, 2 Arctic Tern, 6 Common Scoter and 5 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Spotted Flycatcher still by pond.
1 Red Kite over Newton (nr West Kirby) at 4pm heading towards Thurstaston and 1 Dotterel heading towards West Kirby this evening after circling garden and calling.
1 Garganey (drake) - Burton Mere Wetlands.
c30 Redpoll (probably all Common Redpoll) - Red Rocks this morning.

May 19
1 Little Stint off Roman Road, Meols still.
1 Short-eared Owl, 5 Wheatear and 1 Spotted Flycatcher (Meols end of Park Lane) - Leasowe Lighthouse.
2 Little Gull and 1 Marsh Harrier (fem), Avocets now have 7 chicks - Burton Mere Wetlands.
c100 Swifts screaming low over Caldy Woods this evening.
1 Grasshopper Warbler reeling on fence post - Hoylake Langfields this morning.

May 18
1 Little Stint off Roman Road, Meols, at 940am.
1 Golden Oriole, c20 Wheatear on embankment,  2 Spotted Flycatcher (1 near duck pond and 1 along Park Lane), 1 Cuckoo, 29 Gannet, 17 Sandwich Tern and a good passage of Swifts (c200) - Leasowe Lighthouse, Golden Oriole seen in flight twice, last seen at 1130am in Willows about 400 metres to west of bridge on Lingham Lane, not seen since but thought to be still in area.
1 Cuckoo, 1 Short-eared Owl, 6 Greenland Wheatear and 1 Spotted Flycatcher - Red Rocks early morning.
1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) - Neston Reed Bed.
1 Hobby, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Grey Plover (s/pl) and 1 male Ruff in near s/pl - Burton Mere Wetlands.

May 17
1 Peregrine sitting on East Hoyle Bank at 8am - Meols.
11 Wheatear (incl 2 Greenland race), 8 Sandwich Tern and 5 Great Crested Grebe - Leasowe Lighthouse, 1 Yellow Wagtail behind the lighthouse, Spotted Flycatcher near the duck pond and 1 Short-eared Owl hunting over fields this evening.
6 Yellow Wagtail and 1 Ruff (almost full s/pl) - Burton Mere Wetlands.

2 Whinchat and 4 Wheatear, also 20+ Swift brought down by the hail! - Burton Point.

May 13
1 Stock Dove, 54 Redpoll, 10 Greenland Wheatear, 1 Whinchat, 1 Cuckoo and 1 Yellow Wagtail moving through early morning, breeding warblers include 7 pair Reed warbler and 12 pair Sedge Warbler - Red Rocks.
3 Cuckoo (1 pair seen mating plus another male hear calling at the same time), 1 Grey Partridge and 4 Wheatear - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Hobby - Rifle Range Pools, Burton Marsh.
1 Whinchat, 12 Sedge Warbler, 2 Stonechat, 5 Whitethroat, 1 Grasshopper Warbler and 1 Wheatear - Denhall Lane, Burton Marsh.

1 Garganey (drake) - Donkey Stand Flash, Parkgate, briefly then flew off.
1 Common Sandpiper and 1 Wheatear - Gilroy Nature Park.
1 prob fem Sub-alpine Warbler (in gorse patch west of Lighthouse), also 1 Redstart (at the Leasowe Castle Hotel), 2 Yellow Wagtail, 6 Wheatear, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 8 Eider at sea, 20 Sandwich Tern and 5 Whinchat - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Osprey flew from Leasowe Lighthouse to West Kirby then south down estuary late morning.

May 7
1 Cuckoo calling, 3 Whinchat, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 1 Garden Warbler and 14 Wheatear - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Temminck's Stint (returned at 3.30pm), 1 Spoonbill and 1 Common Sandpiper - Donkey Stand Flash, Parkgate.

May 4
1 Black-winged Pratincole - Burton Mere Wetlands, present again but flew south mid-morning, also 1 Great White Egret, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 2 Grasshopper Warbler and 2 Garganey (pair).
1 Temminck's Stint (still there at 7.45pm) - Donkey Stand Flash, Parkgate, also 1 Spoonbill, 2 Common Sandpiper and 6 White Wagtail.
30+ Sandwich Tern and 20+ Whimbrel - Heswall Shore at high tide.
1 Whimbrel, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Wheatear, 20 Common Tern and 20 Sandwich Tern - Connah's Quay Reserve.
1 Lesser Whitethroat by Neston Reedbed.

May 3
1 Black-winged Pratincole - Burton Mere Wetlands, flew south at 7.40pm.
12 Wheatear, 2 Whinchat and 1 Little Ringed Plover - Point of Ayr, beach and Warren.
1 Redstart (fem), 1 Redpoll, 2 Grasshopper Warbler, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Whimbrel (1 on groyne, 1 in horse paddock), 1 Whinchat, 15 Wheatear, 20 Common Scoter, 10 Gannet and 20 Sandwich Tern - Leasowe Lighthouse, numbers back down to more 'normal' levels, most chats had moved on by 10am.
7 Wheatear by Caldy steps - Caldy Shore.

May 2
200+ Wheatear (mainly Greenland), 800 Willow Warbler (105 ringed), 3,000 Swallow and 6 Redstart - highlights from Hilbre, for more details see http://www.hilbrebirdobs.blogspot.com/, "today saw almost certainly the largest ever fall of migrants recorded at Hilbre since the Bird Observatory was established in 1957".

24 Wheatear and 3 Whinchat - on sea defence and grassy cliff - Caldy Shore, 3 Whimbrel on the shore.
