5000+ Manx Shearwater, 50+ Gannet, 5 Fulmar, 1 Arctic Skua, 7 Kittiwake, 10 Common Scoter, 20 Guillemot, 15 Razorbill on seawatch today- Hilbre, I believe manxie count is easily the highest ever recorded for Wirral/Hilbre.
c3,000 Manx Shearwater, 1 Great Skua, 3 Arctic Skua and 38 Fulmar - Hoylake Shore.
3 Arctic skua chasing terns, 1 Fulmar, 20+ Manx Shearwater and 100+ Common Tern - New Brighton up to high tide.
231 Manx Shearwater flying west in one hour, also 9 Common Scoter - Red Rocks at high tide.
2 Great Skua - Wallasey Shore at high tide.
3 Great Skua flew over Little Eye after high tide.

3 Mediterranean Gull (1st summer, 2nd summer and adult), 725 Black-headed Gull, 128 Curlew, 370 Oystercatcher and 16 Little Egret - Heswall Shore over high tide.

1 Spotted Flycatcher, 3 Wheatear and 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Whimbrel over - Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.
1 Spotted Flycatcher - Ness Gardens.
1 Dark-bellied Brent Goose - Hilbre.

Possible Glossy Ibis, distant and difficult to see in heat haze - Parkgate, off Old Baths, at noon.

2 Tree Pipit - Red Rocks, this morning.
1 Little Owl along Park Lane, 2 Wheatear in horse paddocks, 3+ Reed Warbler singing by duck pond and 1 Common Scoter close in on sea this morning - Leasowe Lighthouse, good, close and prolonged view of 5 Mealy Redpoll on fence in horse paddock nearest to west kissing gate just after noon.

150 Gannet, 150 Common Tern, 60 Sandwich Tern, 8 Arctic Skua, 1 Manx Shearwater, 1 Red-throated Diver, 8 Guillemot, 13 Kittiwake, 1 Peregrine and 1 Wheatear - Hilbre.
3 Sanderling and 450 Black-tailed Godwit - Inner Marsh Farm hide.
3 Arctic Skua (2 dark, 1 pale) and 100+ Kittiwake off Leasowe Castle this evening.

May 21
120 Grey Plover over Newton (West Kirby) heading north.
3 Whinchat, 4 Wheatear and 1 Stonechat along Park Lane, Moreton.
4 Wheatear, 2 Stonechat and at least 170 Little Tern - Gronant.
2 Arctic Skua off Derby Pool, Wallasey Shore at 9pm.

May 20
2 Spotted Flycatcher - Ashton Park, West Kirby.
1 Pied Flycatcher along Park Lane - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Common Sandpiper in drainage ditch in front of Heswall Golf Course - Parkgate Marsh, this afternoon.
1 Bee-eater heard at Red Rocks early morning calling as it flew over, seemed to be heading east.

May 19
Large movement of Swallows, House Martins and Swifts early morning, 10 Wheatear, 1 Whinchat, 1 Cuckoo calling, 2 Spotted Flycatcher, 1 Garden Warbler and 1 Pied Flycatcher (fem) along Lingham Lane - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Garganey (drake) - Burton Mere Wetlands.
200+ Bar-tailed Godwit (10% s/pl), 100 Knot (25% s/pl), 2 Whimbrel, 10 Grey Plover (s/pl), 50 Dunlin and 80+ Sanderling (s/pl) - Wallasey Shore.
1 Cuckoo - Saughall.
1 Whinchat (caught and ringed) and 2 Eider (drake) - Hilbre, 1 Curlew Sandpiper this evening.
4 Grasshopper Warbler (2 pair), 2 Cuckoo, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 2 Garden Warbler, 1 Whinchat, 2 Yellow Wagtail and 3 Tree Pipit - Red Rocks early morning.

50+ Gannet off Hoylake Shore between 5.30 and 6pm.

May 17
3 Goosander flew past, 1 Whinchat caught and ringed - Hilbre.
2 Wheatear on Hoylake Shore by lifeboat station.
1 Spotted Flycatcher by model airplane flying area - White Sands, Burton Marsh.
1 Pied Flycatcher (fem), 5 Spotted Flycatcher, 10 Wheatear, 6 Whinchat and 2 Garden Warbler, also hundreds of Swifts, House Martins and Swallows passing through - Leasowe Lighthouse.

May 16

1 Eider (drake - flew west at 5pm), 1 Yellow Wagtail in horse paddock and 3 Whinchat in field by Park Lane - Leasowe Lighthouse, 250 Swift flying east at Park Lane this evening.
80+ Gannet, 100+ Common Tern  and 100+ Sandwich Tern - Hoylake Shore this evening.

May 13
6 Whimbrel - Heswall Shore.
1 Little Stint with c3,000 Dunlin and 200 Ringed Plover, 1 Peregrine on sand bank and 100+ Gannet off shore, bad heat haze and strong wind made accurate counting difficult - Hoylake Shore at high tide.
3 Arctic Skua (dark phase), 3 Great Skua (including one which flew north close to the west side of the island), 30-40 Manx Shearwater, 10 Arctic Tern, 2 Little Tern, large numbers of Common and Sandwich Terns, 300 Gannet, 200 Kittiwake - highlights from Hilbre, for more details see

6,000 Dunlin, 200 Grey Plover all in summer plumage and 1,500 Knot on the shore, 2 Great Skua, 250+ Gannet and 750+ Manx Shearwater off shore - Hoylake Shore this morning.
3 Scaup this morning, 500 Gannet, 12 Kittiwake and 37 Manx Shearwater between 4 and 5pm - Hilbre.
1 Marsh Harrier - Parkgate Marsh.
11 Wheatear, 5 Yellow Wagtail and 1 Cuckoo - Leasowe Lighthouse this evening.

May 10
80 Gannet and 250 Manx Shearwater (many Manxies flew just beyond the surf line on East Hoyle Bank after high tide) off shore, 40 Sanderling, 180 Ringed Plover, 130 Grey Plover, 1,800 Knot, 5,000 Dunlin and 18 Sandwich Tern on the shore - Hoylake Shore.

May 9
1 Whinchat and 6 Wheatear in horse paddocks, 1 Grasshopper Warbler reeling - Leasowe Lighthouse this morning.
60 Gannet and 100+ Common Tern and 60+ Sandwich Tern off shore, 1,000 Dunlin and 80 Ringed Plover on shore - Hoylake Shore.
150 Black-tailed Godwit - Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.
1 Dotterel low over Parkgate calling at 4.15pm.
1 Marsh Harrier (fem) - Neston Reedbed.

1 Marsh Harrier (fem), 1 Hen Harrier (male) and 1 Hobby - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1,000 Dunlin, 100 Ringed Plover and 40 Sandwich Tern on shore just after high tide, 6 Wheatear and 6 White Wagtail by Lifeboat Station, 15 Gannet, 100 Sandwich Tern and 50 Common Tern feeding off shore - Hoylake Shore.

40+ Gannet close off shore, 40+ Wheatear, 1 Cuckoo, Grasshopper Warbler, 1 Whinchat in field east of lighthouse and 1 Fieldfare over heading north - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Great Skua, 12 Manx Shearwater, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Grasshopper Warbler and 1 Whinchat - Hilbre.
280 Black-tailed Godwit - Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.
8 Buzzard circling over Saughall this morning plus a possible Honey Buzzard.
58 Redpoll (not sure of the species!), 8 Tree Pipit, 35 Greenland Wheatear, 2 Whimbrel, 5 Grasshopper Warbler and 1 Whinchat - Red Rocks early morning.

14 Whimbrel and 1 Common Sandpiper - Hilbre.
37 Redpoll and 5 Grasshopper Warbler - Red Rocks early morning.
450 Black-tailed Godwit, 4 Spotted Redshank and c20 pair of Avocet on nests - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Manx Shearwater, 3 Whimbrel, 2 Grasshopper Warbler, 12 Wheatear, 4 Redpoll over and a male Yellow Wagtail - Leasowe Lighthouse.

3 Whinchat and 7 Wheatear in horse paddocks, and 2 Whimbrel, 37 Gannet and 68 Sandwich Tern - Leasowe Lighthouse.
480 Knot flew up river, 1 Wood Warbler, 1 Garden Warbler, 4 Grasshopper Warbler (2 pair), 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 10 Reed Watbler and 2 Tree Pipit over - Red Rocks early morning.
