1 'Spanish Wagtail' (Motacilla flava iberiae) in Kerr's Field this afternoon - if accepted this will be only the second UK record and thus Wirral's rarest bird! Well done the finder - Stan Davidson, also 2 Whinchat and 3 Wheatear - Leasowe Lighthouse.

Mar 31
1 House Martin *first of spring*, 1 Marsh Harrier flew north early morning, 1 Glaucous Gull (1st winter) flew NE past car park and 4 Wheatear in horse paddocks - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 White Stork - flew over Burton Mere Wetlands towards Burton Marsh at 1230pm then back at BMW at 2pm, also 1 Long-tailed Duck, 4 Mediterranean Gull (1 ad and 3 imm), 1 Little Ringed Plover,1 Bearded Tit, 1 Water Rail and 1 Cetti's Warbler.
1 Osprey carrying large fish flew from Denhall towards Ness Gardens at 1230pm.
3 Wheatear, 4 Eider (2 pair), 4 Red-breated Merganser (2 pair) and at least 50 Brent Geese were seen flying out over the sea to NW - Hilbre.
4 Marsh Harrier, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 2 Merlin, 1 Great Egret and 1 Wheatear - Burton Marsh.
14 Wheatear - sheep pens and Burton Point.

Mar 30
1 White Stork - first seen over Burton Mere Wetlands at noon before flying to marsh, tried to land on Neston Marsh but harassed by Ravens at 12.30pm, flew towards Parkgate then back to Burton Mere Wetlands where it landed in heronry before flying SE towards Puddington at 2.05pm.
25+ Little Gull - Hilbre.
11 Chiffchaff singing along Wirral Way between Heswall and Parkgate early morning.
1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Bearded Tit, 15+ Sand Martin and 3 Cattle Egret - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Osprey flew low over Leasowe Lighthouse car park, flew along coast and later seen over Seaforth.

1 Twite in horse paddocks with Linnets and 1 Greenshank by groyne - Leasowe Lighthouse.

11 Whooper Swan flew NW over Thurstaston shore early morning.

1 Great Northern Diver off north end, also 110 Brent Geese and 1 Rock Pipit - Hilbre.
