1 Short-eared Owl over fields railway side of horse paddocks - Leasowe Lighthouse.
59 White-fronted Geese and 800 Pink-footed Geese feeding in fields south of Burton.
1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) and 35 Little Egret came in to roost - Burton Mere Wetlands.

January 23
250+ Brent Geese - Little Eye at high tide.
2 Raven flew over West Kirby Shore towards Hilbre.
220+ Brent Geese, 11 Scoter, 10 Guillemot, 30 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Shag and 13 Red-throated Diver - Hilbre.
800 Pink-footed Geese in fields by Puddington.
1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) over the reed bed, gave stunning views from the Marsh Covert Hide - Burton Mere Wetlands, 1 Great White Egret on border pool at 3.40pm.
2 Hen Harrier (ringtail) came in to roost at Parkgate Marsh.

2 probable Tundra Bean Geese over at about 1130am heading towards fields south-east of Burton, 2 Hen Harrier (ringtail) and at least 30 White-fronted Geese on the reserve and c500 Pink-footed Geese flew over towards Burton Marsh - Burton Mere Wetlands.
8,000 Herring Gull among a total of 12,000 gulls - on the mud flats between Leasowe Gunsite and New Brighton this morning, 1 Mediterranean Gull off Derby Pool.
23 Purple Sandpiper on pontoon - New Brighton Marine Lake.
1,500 Pink-footed Geese, 1 Merlin and 1 Peregrine - Parkgate Marsh this afternoon.
56 Twite, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 3 Raven, 4,000 Lapwing and 3,000 Knot - Oakenholt Marsh.
18 Whooper Swan flew along river Dee towards Shotwick seen from Connah's Quay Reserve, also 4 Little Grebe and 1 Peregrine.

44 White-fronted Geese at 9.30am - Burton Mere Wetlands, view point accessed from reception hide, 1,200 Pink-footed Geese came in to roost at dusk.
58 White-fronted Geese in fields viewed from Puddington Lane around noon - Burton.
2 Tundra Bean Geese and 1,060 Pink-footed Geese in field south-east of Burton, viewable from Puddington Lane but no parking!
350 Teal and 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 4 Shoveler (2 pair) on Donkey Stand Flash - Parkgate Marsh.

2 Tundra Bean Geese in fields by Burton, present until dusk - please go to Burton Mere Wetlands and ask for directions to avoid flushing the geese, also 48 White-fronted Geese.
