Dear Birdwatcher,
Welcome to the 2006 Birdwatcher’s Diary for the Dee and Mersey Estuary
region. The diary is a partnership between the RSPB, Countryside Ranger
Services and other local wildlife groups. We hope you enjoy the programme
of events that we have lined up for you.
The raptor watches at Parkgate are becoming increasingly popular. Its not
surprising - with up to five hen harriers coming into roost and on
occasion stunning views of close up short eared owl and hunting merlin. We
have included all the big tide dates so we are hoping that one will come
over the marsh and give us spectacular birdwatching. As you know this is
highly dependent on the weather conditions, so keep an eye on that
forecast!
Thank you for supporting our events and I look forward to meeting you all
soon.
Happy birdwatching,
Colin E. Wells
(RSPB Site Manager, Dee Estuary)
